Your bedroom should be a place of sanctuary and escape. A space where you can unwind and recharge, your way. That said, the best rug for you, is well, dependent on your preferences. If tranquility is key, perhaps neutral bedroom rugs are well-suited for your space. If you desire a bit more flare, plush bedroom rugs are fun, can be a bit flashy, and definitely add extra comfort. Finally, performance rugs with personality are a great choice thanks to their durability. Not sure what materials are right for you? Check out our materials guide for more information.
Do you need a large bedroom rug? Or is a small bedroom rug a better fit for your space? If you are just beginning to figure out what rug size is best for you, our size guide provides an excellent starting point. Above all, keep one thing in mind: bigger is usually better. Remember, bedroom rugs, as with all rugs, provide a foundation for your furniture, bringing together often disparate pieces.
When deciding on an area rug for your bedroom, it is often important to first consider how to position a rug in a bedroom. Rug placement under the bed is common and allows for a soft landing for your feet in the morning. That said, the right rug size for a king bed would be large enough to accommodate the whole bed (standard king mattresses are 76 inches wide and 80 inches long). In comparison, a queen bed is just a long (80 inches), but only 60 inches wide, thus the right rug size for a queen bed is just slightly less wide.
