An evolution of rugs
At Ernesta, we believe the right size rug can transform your space. Meticulously crafted to your needs, our curated assortment of rugs is custom sized down to the inch.
Why You'll Love It
Hand-loomed from a soft wool blend, Maycomb combines cozy comfort with low-maintenance practicality.
Inspired by classic menswear tweed, Maycomb makes a subtle statement with flecked yarn and a nubby texture. Its neutral tones and subtle pattern allow it to anchor a seating area, add warmth under a dining table or layer with smaller rugs for a polished, textured look that’s both stylish and approachable.

Beautiful
My new rugs are so beautiful. The wool is soft underfoot. The weave is thick enough to wear very well. The sizes that I ordered are exactly what I received & the delivery was quick.

Question
Can you please explain why this rug is listed as high maintenance on your guide? I am hoping to use it in a more formal dining room but want to make sure it’s a good match for the space. Thanks!
Answer
Hi Meredith! The Maycomb is listed as Wool blend, low-pile rug. It is considered higher maintenance because of it's tweed texture that should not be vacuumed regularly, especially not with a brush roll vacuum. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions at [email protected]

Question
Hi there, I'm considering this rug for a family room that is used primarily as a playroom by three small children. Would you recommend it for that space? Anything I should know about vacuuming this rug?
Answer
Hi Kate! The Maycomb Linen is a wool blend that has a great construction and is great for moderate to heavy traffic areas of your home. The linen color will wear well, and you can vacuum this rug moderately with a canister vacuum.

Question
Hello! Is Malcomb a good option for stairs? I have hardwood stair treads, so the second question would be if the felt pad is still recommended or is there something that would be better? My last question is would the Maycomb be a good option to install using the upholstered install method?...
Answer
Macomb is a good style for stairs as it is a low pile flatweave and doesn't have slippage. We recommend speaking to your installation provider to ensure there are no specific concerns with your project before purchase.
